Back in the Kitchen

When lockdown went into effect on March 13th, we didn’t know if it was going to be two weeks or two months before we were able to welcome you all back into our restaurants. We had hoped to continue with delivery, but with so little known about the virus we didn’t want to put our team, our community, or our Uber Eats partners at risk.

So we waited.

And we waited some more.

And we became hungry.

We decided to try a small pivot, finding a way to bring you all ramen while protecting our community and keeping people safe at home. We launched the DIY Ramen kits at a few shops, just to test the waters. And it was fun and exciting to be back in business, but we quickly realized that it wasn’t what our community was aching for: you wanted to be comforted with hot ramen delivered direct to your door rather than a multi-step Do-It-Yourself dinner. We heard you loud and clear, and were delighted to re-introduce take-away and delivery at the end of April.

Fast forward to mid-June and we’ve been able to open our doors in Brussels and Ghent. We’re going to have to keep adapting and changing our way of working so we can bring you the best of local, and the best of Japan, in the safest way possible. Big news is on the way, and we’ll share it ASAP!

Until then: Welcome back, slurp squad – we’ve missed you
